  • Foreword

Life is a truly interesting journey, a journey of opportunities and choices, and of pain and joy. It is a winding journey that may take us from blindness to the cushion of knowledge, and even better to the portals of truth and wisdom ... or not, if it is that we decide to stay put on the mechanical ramp of our familiar and therefore comfortable ideas.

Most people never realize that nothing is more scary in this world than life — maybe that is one of the reasons why babies are born crying instead of laughing. Some might argue that what is scary is dying, but since you are born death becomes inevitable, it is life what leads to the calamity of death.

What makes life scary is not only the natural physical, emotional, spiritual and social suffering that we are all so acquainted with. But what is more frightening of all is having to face spiritual challenges and choices that at times force us to change the very religious paradigms which are so dear and comfortable to us, since they offer us a sense of personal security and stability — whether real or not. These mental and spiritual prototypes even offer us a sense of identity, a perspective of life, explanations for deep questions and a related sense of self-esteem. Because of that, my personal journey has been a very painful one, but at the same time one with the benefit of the attainment of truth, freedom, depth and joy.

Born with the innate human tendency to strongly believe that my spiritual viewpoint is the one right to the exclusion of all else, I always thought, and preached, that the Christian doctrines I had been taught in my childhood — and later on in seminary — were the pristine body of the absolute, exclusive, and therefore unchangeable, cosmic truth. It took me many years of honest research, and countless tears of perceived humiliation, to personally realize and publicly recognize that I was strolling the streets of Babylon rather than dwelling in Jerusalem, as I had always thought. It was terrifying and excruciating to renounce those deeply-rooted spiritual, mental and emotional elements which I had dearly held as so vital since I was a child up to when I was past middle age.

In the spiritual journey of life it is very common for humans to loose perspective and then getting comfortable resting by the shadow of a sign on the road rather than continuing toward the goal that such a sign is pointing toward. All the people, teachings and experiences that come our way are such signs on the road. They all are sent our way by the King of Heaven so as to guide us from the blind ignorance of Him in which we are born, toward a deep knowledge of Him, his Ways and those Things to which He attributes importance. It is this Discovery that despite any struggle and suffering truly enriches human life, making our earthly existence worthwhile, joyful, eternally productive and deeply interesting.

Historical events have been taking place all around the world that tend to deviate us from achieving the Purpose, described above, for which we all came into this world. These events were coordinated by spiritual forces who actively, and incessantly, oppose the loving Intent of the Almighty for humanity. Their objective is to subtlety hijack us away from our common Creator into a place of deception, disobedience and bondage called Babylon, the splendorous city of sin and thralldom. This magnificent city of bamboozled enslaved citizens is the exact reverse side of the spiritual realm in this world which is found in Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is that small and apparently weak, if not politically fallen city, where the Feet of the Master of the Universe always rest, and where it opens the only inter-dimensional Gate to Heaven on earth — a true Stargate! Certainly, we can never surmise enough the great Importance of the Golden City of Peace. Suffice to say, though, that Jerusalem embodies all the Covenants, Blessings and Plans which HaShem has established for his people. It is also worth noticing that Jerusalem is HaShem's spiritual Capital of the world; and soon, at the coming Messianic Era, it will also be the political and religious capital of the entire planet. It is because of that, and much more, that Jerusalem is where the Spirit and Power of the Holy One, blessed be his Name, is felt with more intensity than on all the rest of the planet. But as of now it lacks attractive to those who prefer flashy, rich and easily captivating Babylon — most of all because we are, one way or another, all too familiar with its millennia-old traditions.

Yes, we all walk one way or another on the Road leading to, or in the very streets of, Babylon. It is so because they are the Road and streets of Confusion. Because we get confused, or we were born in it, we all follow the Road of Confusion. By doing so we get deeper and deeper into the inner places of this evil city, places where we may finally loose all our bearings and we finally get lost in a maze of delusions and deceptions. But while at it, a false sense of security, comfort and pleasure refrains us from even considering the possibility that we may be lost in an evil and dangerous city, or at least on the wrong Road toward it.

If you do not understand what I mean, you surely will if you continue reading the next pages. And if you know, you might find the way out of the maze and the good Road that leads toward Jerusalem.

Have a good and safe trip.

    Leviticus (Wayikra)
    18:4-5

4 You are to perform My Judgments and keep My Statutes, to live in accord with them. I am YHWH your Elohim. 5 So you shall keep My Statutes and My Judgments, by which a man may live if he does them. I am YHWH.

    Deuteronomy (Devarim)
    4:1

1 Now, oh Israel, listen to the Statutes and the Judgments which I am teaching you to perform, so that you may live and go in and take possession of the Land which YHWH, the Elohim of your fathers, is giving you. 2You shall not add to the Word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the Commandments of YHWH your Elohim which I command you.

    Deuteronomy (Devarim)
    4:5-6

5See, I have taught you Statutes and Judgments just as YHWH my Elohim commanded me, that you should do this in the Land where you are entering to possess it. 6 So keep and do them, for that is your Wisdom and your Understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these Statutes and say, "Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people."

    Deuteronomy (Devarim)
    5:1

1Then Moses summoned all Israel and said to them: "Hear, oh Israel, the Statutes and the Ordinances which I am speaking today in your ears, that you may learn them and observe them carefully.

    Deuteronomy (Devarim)
    6:1

1Now this is the Commandment, the Statutes and the Judgments which YHWH your Elohim has commanded me to teach you, so that you may do them in the Land where you are going over to possess it, 2 so that you and your son and your grandson might fear YHWH your Elohim, to keep all His Statutes and His Commandments which I command you, all the days of your life, and so that your days may be prolonged.

    Deuteronomy (Devarim)
    8:1

1All the Commandments that I am commanding you today you shall be careful to do, so that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the Land which YHWH swore to give to your forefathers.

    Psalm (Tehillim)
    119:4

4You have ordained Your Precepts that we should keep them diligently.

    Psalm (Tehillim)
    119:34

1Give me understanding, that I may observe Your Torah [ Heb. Instruction ] and keep it with all my heart.

    Do you believe in Yeshua?
    Look what he said:

    Matthew (Mattithyahu)
    5:17-19

17 Do not think that I came to abolish Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. 18 Because I tell you for sure that until Heaven and earth have passed away, not one Yud [ the smallest letter in the Hebrew alphabet ], nor the least stroke [ of a letter ] — shall pass away from the Torah, until everything is [ passed away ].19 Then, whoever annuls one of the least of these Commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called "least" in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called "great" in the Kingdom of Heaven.
