What is the Pivotal Point of your Trust and Strength? – Cont.
Let us see another example of how Christians put their trust and strength in a wrong source. This becomes clearly evident when confronting death.
If you go to a Christian funeral or a burial, the fist lectures that pastors will read to console, comfort and strengthen the mourners will invariably come from Paul's writings, instead of from Yeshua's words on the matter of death. It is as if there was a silent law that the following passage from Paul is to be read first:
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Iesous.
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord [ do you not find it awfully disquieting that Paul died long time ago and neither will he be alive nor remain when Messiah comes in the future? ], will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
But, why reading Paul ahead of Yeshua? What does that order of lectures mean when it comes to offer strength to mourners? From who will the mourners draw their first sense of consolation and strength? From Yeshua, or from Paul? Without a doubt Paul is their first choice for their source of power to face death. Despite of that Yeshua said more consoling things, for whoever believes his words, than Paul ever did.
John 14:1-6
1 "Do not let your heart be troubled; trust in Elohim, trust also in Me. 2 There are many dwelling places in My Father's House. If it were not like that, I would have told you, because I go to prepare a place for you. 3 So, if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and will receive you to myself, in order that where I am, you may also be. 4 And you know the way where I am going. 5 Thomas said to Him, 'Master, we do not know where you are going; so, how do we know the way? 6 Yeshua said to him, I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through Me."
This is right where Christians get lost do to the fact that they say to believe, and constantly repeat, that Yeshua is the Way; but they walk, and offer others, the Roman road of salvation fabricated by Paul! They say to believe, and constantly repeat, that Yeshua is the Truth; but they constantly search for, and give preference to, the explanations of Paul over Yeshua's! They say to believe, and constantly repeat, that no one can go to our Heavenly Father unless through Yeshua; but they live their own lives according to Paul's instruction, not Yeshua's! Who is their true teacher? Who are they truly trying to follow and imitate? Whose life are they living?!
Reality is that despite all their constant claims of "Christ-centerdness", Christians invariably try to go to the Heavenly Father through, and live their lives according to, the spurious teachings of Paul, who is their unquestionable and greatest teacher of all. These incongruities and contradictions are not noticeable to them at all — even after been told about them — however, they are extremely clear to any educated outside observer of Christendom.
It is sadly interesting to observe that the more committed a Christian is, the more Paulinist he will become, thus becoming more and more proud, progressively overzealous and increasingly disconnected not only from what HaShem has commanded in Torah, and from the explanations and counsel of Yeshua, but even from reality itself. Meanwhile, as far as the world goes, humanity does not need more fanatical Paulinists whose plastic spirituality is not conducive to what HaShem looks for in people: humility, honesty, fairness, mercy, integrity, common sense, genuine love (with concurrent acts of it) among other personal characteristics — none of which Paul had as I shall demonstrate in due time.
Idolizing Paul as the Wrong Source of Truth and Trust
Whether you are an Evangelical, a Protestant or a Catholic, it is all practically the same because independently of their many denominations all Christians are fundationally and foremostly, Paulinists. Therefore, supposing you are an Evangelical you must see, and I am sure denounce, how the Catholics wrongly elevated Mary from the level of a mere woman to that of their "ultimate source of their strength" — in other words, an idol. Meanwhile, you unconsciously do practically the same with Paul and the so-called "
New Testament" elevating them to the level of a factual idolatry. But, of course, I am sure that you would strongly deny it — just as Catholics also do it too — by even using their same wordplay! After all, just as they are, you are blinded by a Pauline deception.
Catholics created the Crusades to impose their particular form of idolatry in the Holy Land over not only Muslims, but also Jews whom they killed wholesale even though Jews were not part of the war. Later on Catholics came up with the Inquisition by which they physically persecuted other Christian who were theological dissidents and rejected the Vatican's specific flavor of idolatry. But that was not all, Evangelicals and Protestants — being the natural daughters and therefore inheritors of their Roman mother — have always practiced their own inquisitorial versions. Although they have killed some dissidents here and there, they normally practice their own persecutions in a much more subtle way. But, without a doubt, such subtlety is still an abomination in the Sight of the Almighty.
How to Recognize Innocent-Looking Wolves in our Midst?
How can we know that one person is a true messenger from the Almighty? When initially confronted with this problem, the first tendency is to think that we could identify them pretty easily, because they would squarely oppose what we believe and practice. Later on we realize that they must talk and do things like the rest; after all, they look like the rest around them. Yeshua gave a good pointer to detect them, but you would have to wait some time to detect them if you go by it. But I will deal with it later on because the Jewish Scriptures (Tanakh) give a sure and easy formula to discover them immediately:
Isaiah 8:20
"To Torah and to the Testimony [ of the Prophets ]! If they do not speak according to such a Word, it is because they have no Dawn [ Dawn is the very beginning stage of daylight ]."
Torah (the Five Books of Moses) is the foremost Revelation that mankind has ever received from the Highest One, blessed be His Name. Now, if you object to this because you are a believer in Yeshua as the Messiah, you should remember that he is to be measured by Torah so as to determine his own messianic validity, since he could not have been the Messiah unless had he not lived and taught Torah among other things! As a matter of fact, Yeshua's disciples thought and taught that he was Torah in the flesh — mind you, not the Hellenistic Logos as commonly thought due to the non-original Greek manuscript of John's book.
John 1:1
1 In the beginning was Torah; and Torah was with Elohim, and Torah was Elohim.
Elohim and elohim in the Divine Council
Before continuing ahead with this subject allow me to tell you that this highly misinterpreted verse does not validate the theory of the trinity because the Hebrew word "elohim" has been misunderstood and mistranslated for far too long. Linguistically speaking, this word does not mean "almighty", as when it is wrongly translated as "God", meaning the HaShem. Its true basic meaning is a "judge" or a "ruler". Moses was elevated by HaShem to be an elohim in Israel, a lesser elohim for sure — but elohim nonetheless.
Exodus 4:16
16 So, he Aharon shall speak for you to the people. Then he will be a mouth for you, and you will be an elohim to him.
Exodus 7:1
1 Then YHWH said to Moses, "See, I make you elohim to Pharaoh, and your brother Aharon shall be your prophet. 2 You shall speak all that I command you, and your brother Aharon shall speak to Pharaoh that he let the sons of Israel go out of his land.
Here we see a mere man (Moses) who was elevated by HaShem to the
position of an elohim, a heavenly ruler and judge, of His Kingdom on earth. Would you call Moses because of that "God Almighty"? Did that make Moses
equal to HaShem in any way? Certainly not!
But is this the only case in the Scriptures that talks about other elohim of a lesser kind? No, this is not the only case. The angelic components of the Divine Council are all elohim too — although, as created beings, they cannot compare to HaShem in the least. The Divine Council is the Heavenly Court composed by the highest ranking beings in Heaven, the highest of whom is HaShem Himself, Who is the Ultimate Elohim. The confusion arises because he is called "Elohim" (Ruler, Judge) and his highest Officers are also called "elohim" because they are "rulers and judges" under him, just as Moses also was.
Psalm 82:1-8
1 Elohim stands upright in the midst of His Own Congregation; He judges in the midst of the elohim judges.
2 "How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? 3 Vindicate rule the weak and fatherless; do justice rule to the afflicted and destitute; 4 rescue rule the weak and needy; deliver them out rule of the hand of the wicked.
5 They do not know nor do they understand. They walk about in darkness. All the Foundations of the earth are walking unsteadily!
6 I said: 'you are elohim', and all of you are Sons of the Most High." 7 Nevertheless, you will die like men and fall like any one of the princes.
8 Arise elohim, judge the earth, because it is you who possesses all the nations."
Confusion may, and does arise, because in the ancient Hebrew language there was not such a thing as capital and lowercase letters. It is neccessary to follow the natural flow of language to be able to determine when one is capital for HaShem and lowercase for his High Officers.
On the other hand, the last verse (8) of this chapter may be intriguing to many people, since it seems that HaShem is giving an Order to Himself. I do not think He is doing so. I think He is giving a Command to a non-rebellious elohim of His Heavenly Council to judge where the others cannot or will not. Obviously HaShem has conferred possession over all the nations of the earth to this particular elohim.
Yeshua referred to this Heavenly incident when was confronted by a group of angry people who wrongly thought that he had blasphemed by claiming to be equal to HaShem. It is at that moment that he counters them by saying,
John 10:34-36
34 Yeshua answered to them, "Has it not been written in your Torah, 'I said, you are elohim'? 35 If he called them "elohim", to whom the word of Elohim came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), 36 do you say of him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am a Son of Elohim'?"
Having explained that, we can now see that Yeshua was not claiming to be equal to the Almighty in any way; but he did mean that he was one of the powerful Members of the Heavenly Council, all of who have the capability to assume human mortal bodies. So, there is no valid point whatsoever for the doctrine of the trinity in John 1:1. It is just a Christian mirage. Frankly speaking, the trinity theory is just a cooked up fallacy without any sound scriptural support whatever.
So, when read John 1:1 you should read it in the light of the above declaration of Yeshua in reference to himself. Why? Because Yeshua was John's teacher! Being his disciple John learned this things directly from Yeshua. So, understanding this, let us read it again,
John 1:1
1 In the beginning was Torah; and Torah was with Elohim; and Torah was elohim.
Now we can clearly see that what John really meant was that Yeshua was an elohim of the Divine Council, who therefore had been with Elohim (HaShem) since the beginning; and that, as the Messiah of Israel, being the greatest Torah teacher of all, he was an incarnation of the eternal Torah, not of HaShem!
If you really believe the so-called "New Testament", then you should try and clarify what those who wrote it said against what Yeshua said before them. But Christians try to do it with what Paul of Tarsus said, instead of all the way around! And Christians say that Yeshua is their "foundation"! They try to build their entire edifice upon the straw roof that Paul put later on. Go figure.
Christians forget, or simply ignore, that what comes first determines what comes after. That is, what comes after is subject to what came first. In this world Torah determined if Yeshua was or not the Messiah of Israel. Because of that, among other things, he had to abide by Torah and live according to it; he also had to teach from it, and never against it. In reality Yeshua, as Rabbis do, expanded Torah. And while he at times criticized some aspects of the oral Torah, he never contradicted the written Torah. But Paul ... Paul went full force against Torah at practically every stroke of his pen. While Yeshua lived by the sure Pattern of Torah, Paul not only did not do it, but he satanically tried to annul it. But, how can we know that Torah is the Pattern to measure anyone or anything, and the perfect Rule to live by?
Leviticus (Wayikra) 18:4-5
4 My Judgments you shall do; and you shall observe
My Ordinances to walk in them. I am YHWH your Elohim.
5 So, you shall observe
My Ordinances and
My Judgments because
the man who accom-
plishes them
will live by them. I am YHWH!
Deuteronomy (Devarim) 4:1-2
1 Now, Israel, listen to the Ordinances and the Judgments which I am teaching you
to perform, in order
that you may live and come and possess the Land which YHWH, the Elohim of your ancestors, is giving you.
2 You shall not add upon the Word which I am commanding you; and
you shall not take away from it, regarding the
Commandments of YHWH your Elohim, with which I am charging you.
Deuteronomy (Devarim) 4:5-6
5 Look, I have taught you the Ordinances and the Judgments
just as YHWH my Elohim did to me, so that
you do them in the midst of the Land which you come to possess over there.
6 So, you shall observe them and do them, because it is Wisdom and Understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all the Ordinances, these Ones, and will say: "Surely these great people are a wise and understanding people."
Deuteronomy (Devarim) 5:1
1 Then Moses summoned all Israel and said to them: "Hear, Israel, the Statutes and the Ordinances, which I am speaking today in your ears, so that you may learn them and
observe them carefully.
Deuteronomy (Devarim) 6:1
1 Now, this is the Command-
ment, the Ordinances and the Judgments which YHWH your Elohim has commanded me to teach you, so that
you may do them in the Land where you are going over to possess it,
2 in order that you and your son and your grandson might fear YHWH your Elohim; to keep
all His Ordinances and His Com-
mandments, which I command you, all the days of your life and
so that your days may be prolonged.
Deuteronomy (Devarim) 8:1
1 All the Commandments that I am commanding you today you shall be careful to do,
so that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the Land which YHWH swore to give to your forefathers.
Psalm (Tehillim) 119:4
4 You have ordained Your Precepts that
we should keep them diligently.
Psalm (Tehillim) 119:34
1 Give me understanding, so that I may observe Your Torah
[Heb. Instruction] and keep it with all my heart.
Do you believe in Yeshua? Then, look what he said:
Matthew (Mattithyahu) 5:17-19
17 Do not think that I came to abolish Torah or the Prophets. I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill.
18 Because I tell you for sure that
until Heaven and earth have passed away, not one Yud
[the smallest letter in the Hebrew alphabet], nor the least stroke
[of a Hebrew letter] — shall pass away from the Torah, until
everything has
[passed away].
19 So, whoever annuls ONE of the least of these Comman-
dments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called "least" in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called "great" in the Kingdom of Heaven.
